Botox® - Is a non-surgical procedure used to temporarily smooth out moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. Botox works by injecting a purified derivative of the botulism toxin A, which temporarily reduces muscle contraction, thus smoothing facial lines. By injecting Botox directly into these muscles, it blocks nerve impulses to the injection area and prevents further muscle contractions which allows the skin to become smooth over that muscle group. In some cases, with repeated treatments, the wrinkle can actually disappear.

When should I see results?
After the treatment, Botox takes about 3 - 7 days to take full effect, and results last an average of 3 months or longer.

Is there any downtime? Are there any risks?
The procedure is safe with minimal downtime. After the treatment slight redness to moderate swelling can occur.

How many treatments do I need?
Patients will see results after the first treatment. It is recommended to have treatments every 3 months as repeated treatments can lead to longer lasting results.
